Singer Kan Jong Wook Opens Up About His Battle With Rare Disease
Singer Kan Jong Wook opened up about his battle with a rare and incurable disease.
On April 16, the singer posted a photo from the hospital and wrote “Got admitted again.. I dread reoperation, but I need to overcome it. Life is a drama… This is the fifth operation under general anesthesia.. sigh.” He added the hashtags “Readmission,” “Please,” “Let it be the last,” “Honey, I’m sorry, I love you,” “Please wait my son and daughter,” and “Dad will overcome.”
Kan Jon Wook is currently battling Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament (OPLL) which is a process of fibrosis, calcification, and ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the spine. This condition makes the spine ligament less flexible and more rigid like a bone.
The singer debuted in 2004 and sang OST songs for dramas including “Royal Family,” “Gloria,” “Dangerous Women,” “May Queen,” and more. He was also part of the duo J2 with his older brother Kan Jong Woo.
Kan Jong Wook got married to a non-celebrity in 2015 and has a son and a daughter.
We sincerely wish Kan Jong Wook strength in his battle.
